Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards which included an Oscar for her film Piano. In her early years she began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. Since her childhood, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in the left ear. However, she did not let that stop her. When she was a teenager, she studied drama in college and moved into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could follow her dreams. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Her first role in film came following her move from Los Angeles. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
